Kitchen Design Auckland

Great Auckland kitchens are designed around the stone, not decorated with it afterwards.

Auckland kitchen designed around a blue-grey quartzite island

Architects, designers and kitchen companies across Auckland bring their clients to our Wairau Valley showroom for one reason: a decision made in front of a full slab is a decision that survives the build.

We are not a kitchen design studio — we are the stone specialists who sit inside your design team. Bring your plans, your joinery samples and your designer, and we will resolve material, layout and detailing together.

What we contribute to the design

  • Material selection matched to how the household actually cooks and lives
  • Slab layout — where veining lands on the island face and where joins fall
  • Edge profiles, mitred thicknesses and waterfall detailing
  • Splashback strategy: full height, window return, upstand or book-matched
  • Cut-out planning for sinks, hobs, taps and power
  • Carrying the material through to sculleries, bathrooms, hearths and furniture

Design directions we are seeing in Auckland

Warm, quiet joinery with a loud slab. Oak and clay-toned cabinetry paired with a dramatic natural stone island is the dominant look in Auckland renovations right now, and it ages far better than a strongly coloured kitchen.

Monolithic islands. Thicker mitred edges and waterfall ends give the bench the weight of a piece of furniture rather than a work surface.

Indoor-outdoor continuity. With Auckland's climate, matching or complementing the kitchen bench in an alfresco porcelain surface makes the whole living area read as one space.

For designers, architects and kitchen companies

We fabricate for many of Auckland's kitchen manufacturers and joiners, and coordinate template and install dates directly with the trades on site. Digital templating, CNC fabrication in our own plant, and our own installation teams mean fewer parties in the chain and fewer surprises.

Specification documents — material properties, manufacturer warranties, fabrication manuals and care guides — are all published in our technical resources for your project files.

Common questions

Do you design kitchens?

We are the stone specialists in your team. We work alongside your kitchen designer, architect or joiner on material selection, slab layout, edge details and jointing — and we work with many of Auckland's kitchen companies every week.

When should stone be chosen in the design process?

Early. Slab availability, splashback matching and island size all influence the design, and natural stone is a limited resource — the slab you love may not be there in three months.

Can I bring my designer to the showroom?

Please do. Standing in front of full slabs with your designer, cabinetry samples and flooring sample in hand is the fastest way to lock a scheme.

Can you match stone across a whole home?

Yes — kitchen, scullery, bathrooms, fireplace and even furniture tops can be drawn from the same or complementary material. Tell us the full scope at selection so we can reserve enough slab.
